Script Window

The Script window contains the following items:

Toolbar

The toolbar provides icon buttons for performing common actions. This toolbar provides the following options:

New Folder

Creates a new Folder Item and opens the Folder Info window to edit the item's attributes. Same action as Script:New Item:Folder.

New File

Creates a new File Item and opens the File Info window to edit the item's attributes. Same action as Script:New Item:File.

New Folder & Contents

Prompts you to select a folder from your hard disk and adds the selected folder and its enclosed files and folders to the script. Same action as Script:New Item:Folder & Contents.

New User Folder

Creates a new User Folder Item and opens the User Folder Info window to edit the item's attributes. Same action as Script:New Item:User Selected Folder.

New Patch

Creates a new Patch Item and opens the Patch Info window to edit the item's attributes. Same action as Script:New Item:Patch.

New XRay

Creates a new XRay Item and opens the XRay Info window to edit the item's attributes. Same action as Script:New Item:XRay.

New Find

Creates a new Find Item and opens the Find Info window to edit the item's attributes. Same action as Script:New Item:Find.

New Delete

Creates a new Delete Item and opens the Delete Info window to edit the item's attributes. Same action as Script:New Item:Delete.

New Message

Creates a new Message Item and opens the Message Info window to edit the item's attributes. Same action as Script:New Item:Message.

New Stop

Creates a new Stop Item and opens the Stop Info window to edit the item's attributes. Same action as Script:New Item:Stop.

Edit Item

Opens the Info window for the selected item in the script window. Same action as Script:Edit Item....

Delete Item

Deletes all items selected in the script window. Same action as Script:Delete Item.

Move Item Up

Moves the selected item up one place. Same action as Edit:Move Up when the item view is targeted.

Move Item Down

Moves the selected item down up one place. Same action as Edit:Move Down when the item view is targeted.

Move Item Left

Moves the selected item left one place. Same action as Edit:Move Left when the item view is targeted.

Move Item Right

Moves the selected item right one place. Same action as Edit:Move Right when the item view is targeted.

Assign to Installation

Assigns all currently selected script items to the selected installation. Same action as Item:Assign to Selected Installation.

Remove from Installation

Removes all currently selected script items from the selected installation. Same action as Item:Remove from Selected Installation.

New Installation

Creates a new Installation and opens the Installation Editor window to edit the installation's attributes. Same action as Script:New Installation....

Edit Installation

Opens the Installation Editor window for the selected installation in the script window. Same action as Script:Edit Installation....

Delete Installation

Deletes the selected installation in the script window. Same action as Script:Delete Installation.

Move Installation Up

Moves the selected installation up one place. Same action as Edit:Move Up when the installation view is targeted.

Move Installation Down

Moves the selected installation down one place. Same action as Edit:Move Down when the installation view is targeted.

Item View

This view displays all items in the current script. Each item is displayed with a checkbox in the left margin, indicating whether that item is assigned to the selected installation. You can click on this checkbox to assign or remove the item from the selected installation. This is the same as choosing the Item:Assign to Selected Installation or Item:Remove from Selected Installation menu option.

Installation View

This view displays all installations in the current script. There must be at least one installation in every script, and one installation should always be selected. Changing the selected installation updates the checkboxes in the Item View to show the items assigned to the installation.

Item Info

This area displays information about the currently selected item, including full name, assigned installations, and attribute info. If more than one item is selected, the Item Info area displays information about the first selected item.

Script Info

This area at the bottom of the script window displays script statistics including number of items in the script, number of selected items, and number of items assigned to the current installation. The number of items in the script includes the default items found in all scripts (i.e. User's Macintosh and system-related folders). The number of selected items may not equal the number of visible items that are selected, if items are selected inside of closed folders. Always check the number of selected items before performing actions that are based on the current selection.
